In alignment with its commitment to staff and student health, Government Dental College & Hospital, Jamnagar organised a Thalassemia Screening Camp on 17th December 2023.
The camp was set up in collaboration with Shri G.G. Hospital, Jamnagar, and provided free blood testing for Thalassemia trait detection. Over 200 students and staff members availed the facility.
Thalassemia is one of the most common genetic disorders in Gujarat. Early detection of carriers is crucial to prevent the birth of children with Thalassemia Major. This initiative is part of GDCH's broader commitment to community health and student welfare.
