Government Dental College & Hospital, Jamnagar observed World Hand Hygiene Day on 5th May 2024 under the theme "Save Lives: Clean Your Hands."
The event was organised by the Department of Public Health Dentistry in collaboration with the hospital administration. Faculty, staff, and students participated in awareness activities, poster presentations, and a live hand-washing demonstration using fluorescent dye and UV light to show how pathogens spread.
The Dean, Dr. Nayana Patel, addressed the gathering and emphasised that hand hygiene is the single most important measure to prevent healthcare-associated infections. A pledge was administered to all participants to maintain hand hygiene practices in clinical and non-clinical settings.
